Final Draft Vs Celtx

Hey folks Romie here! As you know I've been working on a screenplay for the fellowship and I've mainly been using Celtx to write. Celtx is a free preproduction tool for film, tv, and theater. It has served me well in the past, but I finally got my hands on a copy of Final Draft 7 and it's pretty alright if you are able to ignore the fact that ITS BROKEN ON VISTA.

Like everything else Final Draft 7 is buggy as hell on Windows Vista. It closes randomly, Printer driver failures, issues with saving and clipping dialog issues. Everything else is awesome, the dual dialog feature, the automated name and CONT'D feature, and you can't beat being the industry standard. Now if only they could redo the interface.

EDIT: Seems I've finally gotten FINAL DRAFT 7 to work! YAY!!! Next step HOLLYWOOD!

Peace!

2nd Man in command at Lighthouse Creations

Hey guys, Mikey here. I'm part of the Lighthouse, and its damn good to be in it. If your wondering who I am, I am the fellah who gives a beautiful chuck noris kick at the end of "The Chase" Which can be viewed here, Lighthouse Creations on Youtube.

So last friday, Roman and I saw Crank: High Voltage. I thought it was the greatest adrenaline rush and action I ever seen since the first Crank. I'm not sure about what Roman thinks though :P. On a trivia side, did you know Bai Ling from Crank: High Voltage, wrote her own dialouge? Damn she's funny!

SEE CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE! and Stay tuned for more videos from the Lighthouse. Cya guys, have a fantastical day.

Sitting In Math Class

I'm sitting in math class day dreaming of screenplay writing and explosions on 35mm. I'm having a Michael Bay style dream. Speaking of which the new Tramsformers footage looks insane. This guy has the best job in the world, he wakes up in the morning and directs bullets, invisible robots, and explosions. Then he has the nerve to get millions of dollars and awards to do that. Got to love Michael Bay...only in America I swear. Link to footage below.

Writing For Fellowship

Hello folks! Long time no chat on the blog but we're back! Been busy slaving away making shorts and writing scripts for competitions. I recently found out about the Nicholls Fellowship (yeah I know noob) and I've been writing my second feature for it. I also plan to enter in the Script Pimp competition and the SlamDance screenwriting competition. I'm about 71 pages deep so far on this screenplay. WISH ME LUCK!

Peace and Love,
Roman!

We're BACK!

Hey what's up folks this is Roman here dropping by to give you all an update on the status of Journey and a give you all a taste of whats to come. Journey was the first project ever concieved by the Lighthouse Team and it is almost near completion, the script is about 62 pages deep (the longest I've ever written) and its shaping up to be quite the comedic hit. We hope to start filming by Christmas break but until then I decided to drop this little piece I filmed Friday with two members of the Lighthouse crew. The video, titlted "Muted Wonderland", didn't have much production behind it and was very spur of the moment but I believe the end result is pretty nifty. You can check out the video here
I promise to update the blog on at least a weekly basis. Thanks for all your support! LC OUT!

Newbies to the blog world.

Hey whats up folks, Roman here 1/6 of the ever expanding Lighthouse Pictures. We are a young bunch with a passion for making people smile, laugh, cry and shout via our films. YouTube was our playground this summer. We started with short improv comedy films, and are now transitioning into script based film projects. We all have high hopes of becoming successful film directors, editers, actors, screenwriters, and cinematographers. This blog will be our method for communicating with not only admirers, and haters, but all the teens out here with dreams just like us.

Roman!
